Changes at Team Firebrand

Well Firebrand is starting to pickup some steam again. There have been some changes here at Team Firebrand and we hope everyone will enjoy them. The server is now a 16 slot server, and Firebrand is starting to put a competitive team together lead by none other than the infamous Goatlord. We are looking to expand our ranks to fill a six man team out, so check the forum for details if you are interested. We also are expanding into other games, such as Company of Heroes, CoD4, and have made changes to the forum to reflect this. Our next step is to modify the website and give it a new look to go with our "Gamer Community" approach. Our resident artist Kapro is at work crafting some new logos, so check back soon.

Since everyone has been on their death beds for an update, here you go: We have a new daddy (Kalion) and a new member (Random a.k.a. Marco Polo). We have all had a lot of RL distractions after our March 1st LAN Party and needless to say have been less active than in the past. However, we are looking forward to the new update that is on the horizon and some of us are considering joining a league if there is enough interest.

Other news: We have transitioned our vent server to private, rather than public. This was due to a lot of wonderful spammers that were joining to be the annoying personas that they are. Please note that if you want to join our vent, you can request access through the forums.

We also tried running the server with no crits for a while and noticed the lack of attendance from the outside world. We have since turned them back on, but would like to know what you think. Should crits be enabled?

A big THANK YOU goes out to [HOTSHEEP]skele for a very generous server donation! Your the man skele!

We also appreciate all the [HOTSHEEP] guys who have been playing on our server lately. I won't forget the time I first saw you guys on our server. You talked the entire team into all playing the same class! Each round everyone on the team would change to a new class. All demo, all medic, all heavy etc. Below are a few screenshots:

The holiday season is coming to an end and it’s almost the start of a new year. What does that mean? It means that you should play a lot more on the Firebrand server! Join the steam community and forums to interact with the cool Firebrand members you have come to know and love like a mole on the tip of your chin. We understand if you wish to use an ignore option for anyone who’s alias starts with the letter K.

Meanwhile the internal clan scrims continue with positive results and we’re starting plans for a future LAN party. Our plan to take over the world is still on schedule and thanks for tuning into this text based broadcast.


Scrims, Recruitment, and GoatFU

What’s new with Firebrand you ask? We have increased our numbers and now have 15 members. On that note, we’ve currently closed our recruitment process, but don’t get all teary-eyed as we’re likely to reopen in the future. We just need to get things organized first.

We are now organizing internal scrimmages. This is to get practice in a smaller than pub-server environment and work out the bugs (by bugs we mean Kapro). We then plan to move on and start some external scrimmages with other clans. The next appropriate action will be joining a league.

Our Steam community is growing and the server is staying pretty busy in the evenings. Be sure to check out the forums, hop on vent, and game on with your local Firebrand.

If you are looking to get to know who the regulars and members are for Firebrand, this is the tool for you. The Firebrand Community Steam Group is open to the public! No invite needed. Just click on the "Join Our Steam Group" link on the main menu and then click on the "Join This Group" link on the Firebrand Community steam page.

Please note that only Team Firebrand members are allowed to wear the :ƒ: tag. Team Firebrand members are of course listed on the members page.

Team Firebrand is seeking to increase our numbers. We are looking for mature people who will play regularly on the server, join us in vent, and be active in the forums. You don't need to be an incredible TF2 player to join. Just look at me =). If you are interested in possibly joining, please see the Recruitment page for info.


Ventrilo Server Public

If you haven't heard, the Firebrand Ventrilo server is now open to the entire Firebrand community. When you jump on the TF2 server, be sure to hop on vent as well! Simply click on the "Join Our Ventrilo Server" on the main menu to auto connect. If you don't have Ventrilo and perhaps don't even know what it is, Vent is a voice chat program. You can download the free vent client application at http://www.ventrilo.com. While TF2 may have integrated voice chat, it is much funner to get to know each other on a more private scale, as opposed to everyone on the entire server hearing you.
